  • My new mantra

My new mantra is, “Someday, I will miss this.”

With my constantly expanding belly and to-do list, it is my way of reminding myself to Stop and Smell the Roses, so to speak.

    For instance:

When they are both fighting to sit in my lap while we eat lunch, I try to remember that someday they won’t want to be seen with me – nevermind cuddle.

When they are hitting “repeat” on the CD player and listening to Pachelbel’s Canon in D for the 700th time while they dance around the living room, I try to remember that someday Delaney will play that song at her wedding while I huddle under a table sobbing uncontrollably.

I’ll write more examples later.  Right now I have to go figure out why things are suddenly eerily quiet…

At any rate, saying “Someday I will miss this…someday I will miss this…someday I will miss this,” seems to be much better than screaming “SERENITY NOW!!!!” which is what I was doing before.

  • Tax Refund

We finally got our tax refund deposited into our account yesterday, it was so thrilling!  Especially because, due to a paperwork snafu, I thought I might be investigated by the IRS and never paid anything.  But yesterday I checked my bank account on line, and there it was!

So, I sat down and paid the water bill, registered the new minivan (another story for another time), cut the final check to cover our new vinyl siding and paid a credit card bill.

    And. It. Was. Gone.

My life is so utterly exciting and decadent!

  • About Me

I’m laughing at my “About Me” section that says I’m sick of people stopping me in the grocery store to say, “Wow, you are going to be busy.”

I wrote that when I was pregnant with David and Delaney was 20 months old.  Now that Delaney is 4, David is 2 and I am 6 months pregnant, when I waddle through the grocery store people don’t say anything.  They just stare at me with a look that says, “Jeez lady, don’t you know they sell condoms in Aisle 2?!??!”
