  • Eating is good for you

I just was reminded of something I wanted to write about.  EATING.  I have been noticing a trend of dieting/anorexic girls on Xanga who just write lists of the things they eat throughout the day and it usually only consists of gum and lots of Diet Coke.  This is repulsive.  It makes me so sad and angry.  And it seems very widespread.  So, just in case some impressionable teen girls come across my blog, I want to make a list of everything I’ve eaten today to show that you need to eat actual food.  Lots of it.  Every day.

For the record, I’m not a fatty. I’m 5′ 7″ and weigh 130 pounds.  I’m 6 months pregnant in my profile picture – so don’t use that as a reference.

Here’s my “food diary” for today (keep in mind it is only 3:45 pm so I am nowhere near done eating.) I’m just gearing up – “priming the pump” as my friend Monica would say.

    Breakfast:

1 whole entire grapefruit, two fried eggs with 3 slices of cheese on a slice of wheat toast, glass of OJ and 2.5 cups of coffee

    Snack:

    Granola bar

    Lunch:

Turkey and cheese sandwich with mustard.  Two handfuls of “Quakes” chips, water and half of Delaney’s PB&J.

    Snack:

    Several handfuls of m&m’s

    Second Lunch:

A big piece of Chicken Pot Pie left over from last night.

I guess I should note here that I am nursing, which requires that you eat an extra 500 calories.  But still girls, please eat.
